The tiny VinFast VF3 electric vehicle has become a surprise hit in Vietnam
racking up a record number of pre-orders despite concerns about its limited range.
Within just 66 hours of launch, VinFast received a whopping 27,649 pre-orders for the VF3, smashing Vietnam's record for a new car launch.
The biggest question mark surrounding the VF3 is its driving range. With a small 18.64 kWh battery, it boasts a maximum of 130 miles based on a less-strict testing procedure (NEDC) used in Vietnam.
This could translate to a much lower real-world range (potentially around 88 miles) using the US EPA standard.
This limited range might make the VF3 less suitable for longer commutes common in the US.
