Paris, France – Meet the J2R Dynamics Smol, a new electric motorcycle designed for city commutes and new riders.
A New Player in the Electric Motorcycle Game
The electric motorcycle market has seen a surge of new entrants in recent years, with startups leading the charge. While established brands like Zero and Energica have paved the way, companies like J2R Dynamics are bringing fresh ideas to the table.
The J2R Dynamics Smol: Small Size, Big Potential
The Smol lives up to its name with a minimalist and compact design. Inspired by video games (according to its creator, a former video game industry professional!), the Smol prioritizes simplicity and functionality.
Power and Performance
Despite its small size, the Smol packs a punch. An 8 kW hub motor offers power comparable to a 125cc combustion motorcycle, with a top speed of 110 kilometers per hour (approximately 68 mph). Riders can choose between one or two 4 kWh batteries, with the dual-battery option offering a potential range of 150 kilometers (around 93 miles). However, as with all electric vehicles, range can be affected by various factors like wind, terrain, and riding style.
Limited Release and Future Plans
The J2R Dynamics Smol will make its public debut at the 2024 Albi Eco race on May 24th, 2024. Following the unveiling, a limited crowdfunding campaign will launch, with production initially limited to just 50 bikes. Currently, the Smol appears to be available only in France, with plans for international availability yet to be announced.
A Unique Option for Electric Motorcycle Enthusiasts
The J2R Dynamics Smol offers a distinct design and approach compared to the typical electric scooter options available in the 125cc equivalent class. While details are still emerging, the Smol is sure to capture the attention of urban riders and electric vehicle enthusiasts alike.
