J Brand’s electric vehicle lineup, now separated into the Geely Galaxy brand, welcomes its third member – the 2024 Geely Galaxy E8 EV.
Design and Performance
The E8 follows the “Geely Galaxy Light” design language, featuring sleek headlights, a low beltline, a long hood line, a smooth roofline, retractable door handles, and streamlined wheel covers. This design achieves a drag coefficient of 0.199, making it very aerodynamic (though not yet the leader in this category).
The E8 excels in handling, completing the Moose test at a commendable 82 km/h (independent verification needed). With a turning radius of 5.62 meters, it maneuvers well for its size (5,101 x 1,921 x 1,465 mm with a 2,925 mm wheelbase).
Interior
The highlight of the interior is a large 45-inch OLED screen, boasting a slim 10mm thickness. Geely claims this screen surpasses the quality of the BYD Han’s offering. Notably, the E8 integrates with Meizu phones through the Flyme Link system (Geely acquired Meizu in 2022). Flyme Link is essentially Geely’s answer to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The E8’s infotainment system is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip.
Technology and Features
The Geely Galaxy E8 supports the Noah Navigate on Autopilot 2.0 system, involving adaptive cruise control, self-parking, and more. This system is guided by 11 satellites launched by Geely.
Inside, a two-spoke steering wheel with a flat bottom offers a sporty feel. The gear selector is located on the center console. The cabin boasts wireless charging pads and a hidden compartment.

Cargo Space and Powertrain
The E8 offers a 420-liter trunk and a 53-liter frunk (front trunk).
The base model features a 400-volt architecture with a single rear hub motor generating 200 kW. This version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.95 seconds.
The all-wheel-drive version utilizes an 800-volt architecture with dual motors producing a combined 475 kW. This powerhouse reaches 100 km/h in a blistering 3.49 seconds, outpacing even the Porsche Taycan GTS. Additionally, the battery can be fast-charged to provide a 180 km range in a short time.
