Detroit, Michigan – May 18, 2024 – After a production delay, the wait is finally over for some Chevrolet Equinox EV customers. The 2024 model, GM’s entry-level electric vehicle, is hitting dealerships nationwide.
Deliveries Begin, More Trims to Follow
The initial deliveries include the 2RS and 2LT Launch Edition trims. By the end of the month, customers who pre-ordered the 2LT, 3LT, and 3RS trims will also receive their vehicles. The most affordable option, the 1LT, is still on the horizon and expected to arrive later in 2024.
Starting Price and Standard Features
Currently, the most affordable Equinox EV is the 2LT, starting at $43,295 (including destination charge). Standard features on the 2LT include heated front seats and steering wheel, a 17.7-inch infotainment touchscreen with Google built-in, an 11-inch digital instrument cluster, an 8-way power driver’s seat, roof rails, heated side mirrors, adaptive cruise control, a power liftgate, and an LED light bar.
The Wait for the Base 1LT
The upcoming 1LT sacrifices some amenities for a lower price point. It will forgo the LED light bar, roof rails, heated mirrors, power liftgate, power-adjustable heated seats, and heated steering wheel, but will retain the dual screens.
Trims and Performance Options
Higher trims like the 2RS offer larger 21-inch wheels compared to the standard 19-inch on lower trims. The 3LT adds ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, dual-zone climate control, and a heated wiper pack. The 3RS boasts a heated flat-bottom steering wheel.
The Equinox EV comes in front-wheel drive (FWD) or dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD) configurations. FWD trims boast a maximum EPA-estimated range of 319 miles on a full charge with 213 horsepower. AWD variants offer a range of 285 miles and 288 horsepower.
Charging Options
The Equinox EV supports AC charging up to 11.5 kW, adding up to 36 miles of range per hour. Additionally, DC fast charging at a maximum of 150 kW is standard, enabling a 77-mile range boost in 10 minutes, according to GM.
While deliveries have begun for some trims, Chevrolet fans eagerly awaiting the most affordable 1LT version will have to wait a little longer.
