Fiat is bringing back the 500e to the US market, this time as a fully electric hatchback.
- More Range, More Power: This new generation boasts a larger battery pack (42 kWh) compared to the previous generation (25 kWh), translating to an estimated 149 miles of combined range (162 miles in city driving). The electric motor produces 117 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque.
- Fast Charging Capability: The 500e is equipped with 85 kW DC fast-charging capability, allowing you to reach 80% charge in about 30 minutes.
- Focus on Urban Driving: While not intended for long road trips, the 500e is perfect for city commutes with its peppy performance and maneuverability.
- Unique Features: The 500e features a pedestrian alert sound system that plays a song titled “The Sound of 500” when the car reaches 20 mph.
- Spacious Interior: Despite its compact size, the 500e offers surprisingly good cargo space (7.6 cubic feet behind the rear seats) and ample headroom for passengers.
- Tech-Forward Cabin: The 500e comes with a digital dashboard, the latest Uconnect 5 infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay (both wireless), standard navigation, and Amazon Alexa integration.
- Special Editions and Customization: The initial offering will be the 500e (RED) special edition, followed by editions inspired by beauty and music. Fiat plans to release various special editions throughout the 500e’s lifespan, similar to limited-edition consumer goods.
Pricing and Availability:
- The 2024 Fiat 500e (RED) starts at just over $34,000.
- The inspired-by-music and beauty editions will cost $37,595 and come with upgraded driver assistance features.
- The 500e will hit the road later this year.
